Starting from Janurary 1st 2020, Gia Nghia town is upgraded into a city

TTO – The Parliament Standing Committee has just introduced the Resolution of establishing Quang Thanh ward in township of Gia Nghia and Gia Nghia city of Dak Nong province.

According to the Resolution, Quang Thanh ward in township of Gia Nghia was established on the basis of 77,59 km2 total of natural area and the population of 5,783 of Quang Thanh village. Quang Thanh ward was adjacent to the wards of Nghia Duc, Nghia Thanh, Nghia Phu, Dak R’Moan village; districts of Dak Glong and Dak Song.

The city of Gia Nghia was established on the basis of 284,11 km2 total of natural area and the population of 85.082 in township of Gia Nghia. The city was adjacent to the districts of Dak Glong, Dak R’Lap, Dak Song and Lam Dong province.

After establishment, Quang Thanh ward was in township of Gia Nghia and Gia Nghia city was in township of Dak Nong province. The city of Gia Nghia had 8 administrative units at village level, consisting of 6 wards: Nghia Duc, Nghia Phu, Nghia Tan, Nghia Thanh, Nghia Trung, Quang Thanh and 2 villages: Dak Nia, Dak R’Moan.

The province of Dak Nong had 8 administrative units at district level, consisting of 7 districts and 1 city; 71 administrative units at village level, consisting of 60 villages, 6 wards and 5 towns.

The People’s Court of Gia Nghia city was established following the inheritance of the People’s Court in township of Gia Nghia. The Institute of People’s Control of Gia Nghia city was established following the inheritance of the Institute of People’s Control in township of Gia Nghia, Dak Nong province.

The Resolution was coming into effect starting from January 1st 2020.
